From Mexico through Brazil to Chile: Euro Jet’s Trip Support in Central and South America
Meet Danniel Maher, Euro Jet’s representative in the Latin American region. Based out of Brazil, Danniel has over 20 years of experience working in the aviation industry. He joined Euro Jet at the beginning of 2024 and has since worked tirelessly on expanding our network of trusted partners across Central and South America. Thanks to this network, Euro Jet can offer a full range of trip support services for all types of flights and events across the continent, including the upcoming G20 Summit this November in Rio de Janeiro.
Aviators and Entrepreneurs
Aviation runs in the Maher family. Danniel’s father spent nearly 40 years working with airlines, while his mother dedicated over 30 years of her career to executive aviation. They also started their own family business, Maher’s handling, which Danniel joined in 2003. The company served as a preferred ground handler for many renowned operators with Danniel supervising and coordinating flights of every kind – executive, charter, military, diplomatic, or cargo – all across Brazil. A notable milestone for the family business came in 2014 during FIFA’s World Cup when they successfully coordinated, supervised, and handled 97 flights at 15 different Brazilian airports.
The 2016 Rio Olympics found Danniel in the position of General Manager for Swissport Executive Aviation in Brazil. The massive sporting event also marked the first cooperation between Danniel and Euro Jet on over 35 flights which were very successful despite all the challenges of the Olympics.
Danniel then launched his own venture, Athena Aviation, focusing on airport meet-and-greet service. Even though the company had to face significant challenges caused by the worldwide pandemic, the high-quality assistance proved to be sought-after by passengers with the number of customers growing each year.
From Mexico down to Chile
In his newest role as Euro Jet’s representative in the LATAM region, Danniel is expanding and maintaining our strong network of partners at the most important airports from Mexico in the north to Chile in the south. While making use of his valuable local insights and experience from his own career in flight support, he is building on Euro Jet’s solid relationships in the region established over the past 15 years.
One of Danniel’s responsibilities is to find the most reliable, quality and safety-oriented vendors from among the local service providers. He makes sure that the information that Euro Jet keeps in its database about every airport in the region stays up to date. This is important even for small airports with little traffic as these might become vital in case of an emergency diversion. Together with the Vendor Relations and Data Management teams, Danniel also ensures that our network includes multiple service options at crucial locations so that we can maintain flexibility and timely service even in challenging or last-minute situations.
Thanks to this network and the combined efforts of our team, Euro Jet can offer the same high-quality level of trip support in Latin America as we do in every other part of the world. We are ready to be a one-stop-shop solution for international flights coming to this region no matter how complicated the operation.
We can provide full trip support services for multiple cities and countries across Central and South America, easily taking care of repositioning the flights if necessary. Coordinated by our 24/7 Operations Control Center, we can assist with flight planning, arranging landing and overflight permits, ground handling as well as fuel uplifts, and organize catering, VIP transportation for passengers or hotel accommodation for crew. All this is done while paying attention to every detail of our customers’ requests and delivering a personalized experience for them.
G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro
While still in recovery mode after the recent pandemic, the general aviation industry in the LATAM region is expanding with a growing number of flights each year. As the market is developing, the region must overcome some challenges, poor or lacking infrastructure in several parts of the continent being chief among them. Many airports, in addition to local catering and transportation companies, face limitations that can negatively impact an operation. Furthermore, many countries have complex permit regulations, which can further complicate logistics.
Under such circumstances, having a reliable trip support partner provides local knowledge, verified partnerships, flexibility, and tailored services that can prove advantageous for an international operator. This is especially true in case of high-profile events and VIP clients, such as the upcoming G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro.
The nineteenth meeting of the G20 countries will be held at the second most populous city in Brazil at the Museum of Modern Art on November 18-19, 2024. Euro Jet’s team will be happy to offer support for flights arriving for this significant occasion and ensure smooth operation at Rio’s Galeao International Airport (SBGL/GIG).
