Sky High Tunes of Budapest: Euro Jet Supporting the Sziget Festival Flights

Hungary has been at the center of European cultural and sports events this year. The capital city of Budapest hosted the UEFA Europa League final at the end of May as well as the annual Hungarian Grand Prix in July. The excitement continues into August as Budapest prepares for one of its largest music events of the year – the Sziget Festival – scheduled to take place from August 10-15, 2023.

The festival features 10 music stages, 20 additional programs and artistic venues, and 30 sponsor venues all across Budapest. The main stage, located on the Island of Freedom on the Danube river, will present the most popular performers, which this year include Billie Eilish, David Guetta, Florence and the Machine, Imagine Dragons, Niall Horan, Lorde, and Macklemore.

While there are no plans to apply any special procedures at Budapest Airport during the festival, operators should be advised that large charter flights with bigger groups of passengers on board will need to fill in the General Declaration Forms (GENDEC). Knowing the exact number of passengers will be important to properly organize all services required for each flight, including necessary manpower, and adequate transportation. Catering orders should also be placed as soon as possible due to the expected increased demand.

Aircraft parking spaces will be available. Aircraft carrying performers for the festival will receive priority parking as close to the General Aviation terminal as possible so that they can save time and exit the airport swiftly.
